My family in Alaska is large, and when we get the relatives from the lower states to join us, we can certainly fill a room! This is my mother and father, my older sister Lynn and her family, my younger sister Shannyn and her family, my brother Curt minus his wife, my cousin Mary and her family, my Aunt Georgia and Aunt Jill, then there is us and our kids. These are the people that make the cold winter months enjoyable in Alaska. Summer is great too! July 2009

Just a quick note...More KS drama

Okay, so everyone knows that we did NOT win custody of Nathan, that he stays in the grandparents home where he will be with his siblings (all by other fathers). We can't do anything about it so when we were awarded summer visits, we took it without complaint. The cost is all on us, except for the monthly child support for that time will be cut down by 2/3rds. The fact is that Nathan will be with us for three months, and can have more time to have a positive influence than just monthly visits will allow. We want a large block of time with him so that we can instill good behaviors and show him stability. Web cam visits twice a month, phone calls the other two weekends each month. Works out well, don't you think?

Well our mediator for the web visits is moving to the East Coast while Nate is with us on vacation. Not a big deal. We talked to his mom and grandmother who both said we could do this by ourselves now. SURPRISE!!! Nope! They filed a 'grievance' with their lawyer with all these lies about how rotten we were to Nathan and all the people involved in the past custody issues. Her lawyer now wants to shorten the visit (after we paid for the plane tickets) and get a case manager.

We never expected this. Why should we? We assume we are talking to adults and working the issues out AS adults. When will we learn, huh? lol. Don't worry about us people, our lawyer has it all figured out. We gave her what we had and she has a few surprises up her own sleeve. There is very little chance things will change either for the current court order, or for the behavior of the other party. We have to take things as they go.

New phone conference on May 25th to see what the outcome of their attempt at drama will be.
