My family in Alaska is large, and when we get the relatives from the lower states to join us, we can certainly fill a room! This is my mother and father, my older sister Lynn and her family, my younger sister Shannyn and her family, my brother Curt minus his wife, my cousin Mary and her family, my Aunt Georgia and Aunt Jill, then there is us and our kids. These are the people that make the cold winter months enjoyable in Alaska. Summer is great too! July 2009

Polar Plunge 2012!!!

Josh and Luke decided (with my help) that they would do the Polar Plunge. Being from Alaska and used to cold water, as well as it being 40 degrees or higher all winter, they thought this would be a breeze....
We already knew from the crowd (all of them soldiers) that Luke would be the youngest plunger there. Josh dressed showing his Irish Heritage, and Luke showed his Indian Heritage. The boys were supposed to be a part of a team, but SURPRISE!, they were the only kids there! Luke won the trophy for the being the youngest, and Josh got a polar bear shirt. Besides dripping wet and having to track threw mud to get dry clothes, they warmed up within minutes. I am so proud of them both!
